- Board of Directors - Director at Large
Sheila has been working and studying in Victoria’s arts community since the 1970s, printmaking, drawing and painting, but mostly working with fibre. Some of her experiences include working in a gallery, framing and selling art for 10 years. She studied in the Visual Arts Program at Camosun College – 1999-2001, volunteered for the Gallery-in-the-Schools Programme with the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria for 2 years, as well as working for 7 years on costume design for large-scale musical theatre productions. Sheila worked in the Schoolhouse Studio, operating a small gallery in the Metchosin Arts and Cultural Centre for 2 years before moving her studio to the Coast Collective in 2010, and has been here ever since. She loves being a part of the supportive art community that the Collective has established. Sheila plans to continue working with this wonderful group, to further support the arts on the South Island, and is very excited about expanding SASI’s reach further into the community, encompassing all of the arts.
