Megan Evans: A Decade of Creative Sparks
Meet the Artist Reception: Saturday, October 5, 1:00 – 3:00
Megan Evans is a Victoria born Visual Artist and Indie Author who has been a member of the Victoria Arts Council since 2006 and recently joined the Sooke Arts Council. She has participated in many local shows including the annual LOOK show and rotates paintings around Langford/View Royal with the Coast Collective’s Roaming Gallery. She is also co-author of No Quarter: Dominium and No Quarter: Wenches, a historical fiction/romance series that is available in ebook, paperback, hardcover and audiobook.
For Megan, art has not only become a channel for self-expression, but a therapeutic process for coping with chronic pain and depression. She has been creating art since childhood, but when she entered her teens, it played and even greater role when Megan was diagnosed with the spinal disease, Spondylolisthesis. Painting allows her to focus on positive things like the beauty of nature, self discovery, and learning new skills. She feels as though art has enriched her life and remains a critical part of day to day activities.
Gallery hours: 11:00 to 5:00 Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday). No admission fee.
