Have you ever wanted to keep a sketchbook as you travel, but don’t know where to start? Do you love sketching, but there just never seems to be time?

Learn the essentials of how to keep a travel sketchbook and build a unique record of your adventures- away or at home. Travel sketching is incredibly rewarding, and it’s possible to fit drawing time onto a trip even when you’re travelling with others or have a busy schedule.

We’ll look at basic techniques for capturing the essence of a scene through contour drawings, choosing a focus in a complicated scene and using selective colour. We’ll also play with using panels to tell the story of a day and how to integrate writing with your drawings. The workshop will include handy tips for drawing in public and how to choose supplies. We’ll focus on pens and watercolour but other media will be available for you to explore.

This workshop is aimed at beginning sketchers or those with some experience who would like to develop their ability and confidence when sketching on the go.
