Advanced Canadian Landscape Painting with Deb Czernecky (Oct)

This six week course will focus on creating dynamic, loose Canadian landscape using acrylic or oils. We will look at painting our four incredible seasons and our amazing skyscapes. You will learn many tips on how to simplify our complex landscape in order to discover the big picture. There will be an emphasis on personal expression and creativity of how we translate our landscape. This course is designed for advance beginners and beyond.
Please bring a minimum of 12 landscape images or reference pieces to first class so we can review composition and each student can chose 6 good images they want to paint in the next few weeks! They can also paint 4 or 5 or 10 paintings, depending how much time you put on the paintbrush!
Your paint box with all your colours and brushes. Usual supply list attached for reference,
A min of 12 landscape images, please ensure they are a min of 8×10, please!
Let’s go big on canvas size, min 16×20 to 24×30….however you can start smaller!
Bring one or two canvases to first class to have options.

Supply list: recommended colours for either oils or acrylics:
Lemon or Hansa Yellow (cool)
Cadmium Yellow (warm)
Cadmium Red (warm)
Alizarin Crimson or Crimson (cool)
and any other colours in your paint box.
Plus your palette/mixing surface.
Brushes – min of three and bring what you have.
Painting Surfaces, either canvas or gesso boards.

acrylic painters, bring two small water containers.
