Spring Bursts into Flower at the Coast Collective with Bloom 10 and Sheilagh Knox’s Blossoms and Vistas

If you’re feeling blue from all the rain we’ve been experiencing lately, then come visit the Coast Collective Art Centre this weekend.  Two beautiful shows welcome spring with vivid floral artwork: our 10th annual Bloom show, and Blossoms and Vistas by Sheilagh Knox.  Both exhibitions are free to attend.

Beauty will Save the World by Janet Anderson, Oil on Canvas

Bloom 10 features over 70 pieces of gorgeous flower artwork by 33 local artists, including oil paintings,  watercolours, acrylics photographs, polymer clay, fabric dolls, and more.  The show runs until April 1, with a meet-the-artists reception on Saturday, March 17 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  There will be light refreshments served at the reception with live music performed by Caroline Stengl.

Then on Sunday, March 18 from 1:00 to 3:00 visitors can come and meet Sheilagh Knox whose solo show Blossoms and Vistas will be up in the Westridge Gallery section of the Coast Collective until March 25.  Light refreshments will be served.

Sheilagh Knox, Glad not to be Blue 3, watercolour wax resist.

This show includes watercolours on paper and canvas, and wax resist.  Sheilagh Knox’s vibrant colours and stylized designs are reminiscent of stained glass.  At least one of the pieces in her exhibition has been in TV shows and movies, so you may have seen it on screen!
