As a cultural enterprise of the Society for Arts on the South Island (SASI),
the Coast Collective Arts Centre has a mission to nurture the arts on
Southern Vancouver Island by providing a waterfront destination for
showcasing and celebrating local art and culture. You can help make
this happen in many ways:
Approximately 6 times a year the Coast Collective hosts "open call" art shows relating to a selected theme. There is not usually an adjudication fee, and you need not be a member of the Society for Arts on the South Island (SASI) or an Associate Program Member of the Coast Collective to apply to enter your artwork in these shows.
HOW TO ENTER: Find out about upcoming shows by checking the Calls for Submissions page, where you will find links to the downloadable application form and online submission form.
BENEFITS of the Coast Collective's Associate Program Membership/Subscription
Associate Program members/subscribers are required to contribute 72 hours of community service to the arts each year, or agree to pay a further $150/year plus GST or a mutually acceptable combination of hours and cash equal to the required contribution of 72 hours per year. Their service can take a variety of forms.
How to Join:
Visit the Associate Program page for an Application Form and payment information, or drop by the Gift Shop to complete a form in person. If you have any questions, please contact the Gift Shop & Associate Program Coordinator for more information - firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you create fine art or finely crafted items, you can apply to join our community of juried artists and artisans who sell their works at our unique GO LOCAL gift shop, where thousands of visitors per year find a wide variety of functional and fabulous locally created items, large and small.
Gift shop artists are required to contribute one day per month (6 hours) toward the sustainable operation of the Coast Collective Arts Centre, a cultural enterprise of the Society for Arts on the South Island (SASI). This commitment of time can take a number of forms, but generally consists of serving a shift at the Coast Collective Gift Shop as a cashier or host.
Gift Shop artists are also required to pay a 50% commission on products sold on site.
