Thursday September 20, 4:30 to 7:30 pm

Instructor: Laura Rechwan

The Hills are alive with art, light, and music!

Register for the intermediate to advanced lantern-making workshop under the instruction of a local artist! This workshop will show you a step-by-step process to make a lantern out of recycled newspaper. Participants will be led to create a one-of-a-kind lantern to light their path during the festival. The $15 registration fee includes instruction, all materials, and a LED light. This workshop is suitable for ages 15 and up, or aged 10+ with parent attending.

Join us on September 22, 2018 from 7:30-9:30 pm in the Westhills community for the 3rd annual Light Up the Hills Festival. Light Up the Hills is a family-friendly outdoor festival of light presented by the West Shore Arts Council and Westhills. Held after dark, featured illuminated artworks will create a spectacular glowing effect throughout the community. Event participants will walk along a designated path, passing by various performances and artworks, and using hand-made lanterns to guide their way. This community-focused event aims to showcase the creativity of local artists, musicians, and performers.

Register for this workshop online through Eventbrite.

This workshop is organized by the West Shore Arts Council and the Coast Collective Art Centre.
