Placing art in your garden will give it a whole new sophisticated look. In this workshop you will use wires, tin foil, t-shirts and Paverpol ( a water based, non toxic, fabric hardener) to create your own life size heron for your home or garden. Use the sample in class for your template or bring your own photo examples.
Instructor: Kathryn Fudge
Kathryn Fudge has always been driven to create art in one form or another. Even as a child she was constantly doing arts and crafts, or baking, or making clothes for her dolls. As an adult her creative skills allowed her to be a stay at home Mom to her three children and work from home in various jobs. She worked for many years as a seamstress, then set up an at home wood working shop to make wood pieces to sell to a tole painting studio. She studied and taught classes in painting with acrylics for several years before happening upon a new medium that would take her in a whole new direction.
That medium is Paverpol, a textile hardener. She took a class and was hooked immediately. She got certified as an instructor as soon as possible and has been teaching ever since.
Kathryn joined the Coast Collective in November 2009 as a gift shop artist and instructor for Paverpol classes. She also organized and was directly involved in the gallery show” Sitting Pretty” for the last two consecutive years. She and her friend Patricia created PKDesigns, a home based business in which they upcycle chairs and accessories, creating artful, one of a kind pieces for the home or office.
Kathryn feels most fulfilled when creating something new, be it art, a home renovation or even gardening. She also takes great joy in learning new skills and techniques and sharing that knowledge through the classes she teaches.
